Durch die vermehrten Fördermöglichkeiten kann ich als Projektraumbetreiberin weiterhin komplett unabhängig von einer Marktorientierung agieren. Diese Entwicklung ist sehr positiv. Denn gerade in der Randlage Marzahn-Hellersdorf kann es keine marktorientierten Überlegungen für die Ausrichtung eines Programms geben. Es gibt kein touristisches Publikum. Das Publikum generiert sich aus den Menschen vor Ort. Für Marzahn-Hellersdorf bedeutet dies, dass sich die Menschen oft in prekären finanziellen Situationen befinden, eine marktorientierte Ausrichtung passt nicht in diesen Kontext. Die Themen Stadtmitte − Peripherie, öffentlicher Raum und/oder Rechtspopulismus können nicht marktorientiert verhandelt werden.There is probably no ideal project space, and that is exactly what is ideal about this format; the openness and the freedom that allows it to take any shape and direction. To us, a project space is a kind of utopia, although there is no fixed concept of an ideal project space. Project spaces are very much constantly evolving, changing, and adapting.Art should first and foremost raise questions that are important for present and future societies. In the last decade, art has moved closer to science, technology, and society. It has become less commercialized and more diverse. We would like art to become not only illustrative and speculative, but also functional, embedding even more science and technologies within itself. This would encourage the audience to be even closer to art, perhaps more critical, diverse, tolerant, and creative.
