Daher sehen wir unsere Aufgabe und Möglichkeit darin, gerade diesen oft wenig gehörten und minoritären Stimmen Raum zu bieten. Kunst interagiert mit der Gesellschaft oder sie findet nicht statt − insofern streiten wir für die Idee, die ästhetischen mit den sozialen Fragen zusammenzudenken und zu reflektieren. It is absolutely necessary to delegate bureaucratic paperwork to those who are professionally trained in these tasks. Running a project space with all its paperwork baggage is taking a toll on creative output: it slows us down. However, we cannot get away from this bureaucratic burden since we lack the financial resources for professional assistance in these matters.The Network is a fundamental organization in the artistic landscape of Berlin. Without the Network, many of the support structures that have been built in recent years simply would not exist. Unionizing has always been problematic in a sector like the art sphere where the construction of the worker has been historically based on the idea of the author, and therefore the ego. In order to achieve change, cooperative models like the Network are a must. The challenge is how to create belonging from difference.
