Wir wünschen uns von der Politik, dass sie sich für leistbare Mieten und die Absicherung von freien Projekträumen über temporäre Zuschüsse hinaus einsetzt. Die zweijährige Basisförderung für Projekträume und -initiativen ist ein wichtiger Schritt in diese Richtung und wir hoffen, dass sich dieser politische Trend − weg von einer „Einzelfallfinanzierung“ hin zu Strukturförderung − fortsetzt und verstetigt.It always feels quite special when an institution catches the zeitgeist of a moment. Project spaces have a lot more freedom in this sense, and they can truly, sincerely, reflect a moment or a movement as it is happening. They are essential to a critically active arts scene. Perhaps the orientation of project spaces has been forced to shift towards something more self-sustainable – but that might not be a bad thing.It just makes my heart sing. Despite all that, I believe in art, but I guess it is about time to find new ways (again).
