For many decades Berlin has developed a lively, diverse, and independent way of producing culture and counteracting government decisions, based on, local, generous, and enthusiastic, but also worried, social communities that exchanged resources and ideas within a larger political debate. The city became a “natural” shelter and fertile environment for dissidents, artists, political refugees, and immigrants with any background also due to the need to overcome a traumatic past full of human generated atrocities that are still present in people memories and behaviour.We are very happy with the network. Whenever we had questions or doubts, the Network had an answer or guided us. Being a project space, we can see how lucky we are to have the support of this organization that has allowed us to be where we are now. Kunst ist ein gesellschaftlicher Reflexions- und Erfahrungsraum. Und natürlich entwickelt sich das Kunstverständnis aus dieser Reflexion immer weiter, das gehört ja schon zum Kunstbegriff, würde ich sagen. Mein künstlerisches Interesse ist erfahrungs- und entwicklungsorientiert, emanzipatorisch und aktivierend. Ich möchte in einer Kultur leben, wo die Rollenverteilungen von Arm und Reich, zwischen produzieren und konsumieren nicht mehr so abgegrenzt voneinander sind. Künstlerisches Schaffen ist für mich eine Möglichkeit, dazu beizutragen. Es bietet einen Handlungsraum, gesellschaftliche Änderungen spielerisch vorzudenken und auszuprobieren.
