alpha nova & galerie futura ist ein seit 1986 bestehender Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungsort in Berlin, der aus einer dezidiert emanzipatorischen und feministischen Perspektive kulturproduzierende und kulturvermittelnde Praxis verschränkt. Der Schwerpunkt liegt in der Zusammenarbeit mit Künstlerinnen bzw. FLINTA-Personen*. alpha nova & galerie futura schafft einen Raum für die Verknüpfung von politischer Intervention und künstlerischer Praxis, um daraus kritische Standpunkte für Kunst, Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft zu entwickeln.

The Network is a fundamental organization in the artistic landscape of Berlin. Without the Network, many of the support structures that have been built in recent years simply would not exist. Unionizing has always been problematic in a sector like the art sphere where the construction of the worker has been historically based on the idea of the author, and therefore the ego. In order to achieve change, cooperative models like the Network are a must. The challenge is how to create belonging from difference.In Berlin wurden ja schon gute und wichtige Akzente gesetzt, jedoch sollte dieses Bewusstsein auch auf Bundesebene mehr durchschlagen und ein Gesamtkonzept zur Unterstützung der Kultur in Angriff genommen werden.Funding and access to funding is a key element in sustaining project spaces. There are many funding tools that project spaces can use to cover the costs of labor, materials, and rent. But the options are competitive and usually involve a lot of effort and paperwork. In our opinion, there needs to be a change in the funding system that includes simplifying the application process and shortening the waiting time between submission and announcement of the result. Only like this can the project space keep the momentum and focus on artistic and curatorial projects.
