Zum Erhalt von Kultur allgemein ist wichtig, sie aus dem ökonomischen Primat zu lösen; dafür stehen alle nicht kommerziellen Projekträume als selbstbestimmte Orte von experimentellen Fragestellungen, Versuchen, neuen ästhetischen Formulierungen, Untersuchungen sozialer Realitäten … und es wäre noch viel wichtiger, diese Szene insgesamt in ihrer Vielfalt zu erhalten, als vereinzelte Räume „auszuzeichnen“.Funding and access to funding is a key element in sustaining project spaces. There are many funding tools that project spaces can use to cover the costs of labor, materials, and rent. But the options are competitive and usually involve a lot of effort and paperwork. In our opinion, there needs to be a change in the funding system that includes simplifying the application process and shortening the waiting time between submission and announcement of the result. Only like this can the project space keep the momentum and focus on artistic and curatorial projects.Kunst kann fast alles, muss es aber nicht. Heute arbeiten wir in einem neoliberalen Turbokapitalismus, der an seine absoluten globalen Grenzen gekommen ist. Ohne künstlerische Arbeit wird es keine nachvollziehbare Übersetzung der jetzt NOTwendigen sozial-ökologischen Transformationsprozesse der westeuropäisch geprägten Industriegesellschaften geben.
