NEW FEARS ist eine Galerie für Performance und Transdisziplinarität in Berlin-Wedding, die in Berlin ansässige und internationale Künstler:innen vertritt.
Für jede Episode lädt NEW FEARS zwei Künstler:innen zu einer Residency in Berlin
ein, die in einer öffentlichen Veranstaltung endet. Der Prozess wird von Autor:innen begleitet, die ein Manifest publizieren, das auf der bevorstehenden Veranstaltung vorgestellt wird. Bisher existieren #9 Episoden.

The engagement and support from the Network has been vitally important to our growth and sustainability, and also our learning and understanding of the wider Berlin art scene beyond our micro-communities. For one thing, we have learned so much about the plurality of spaces and creative discourses in Berlin. But the open discussion that the Network allows with the Berlin Senate and one another has been really important in order to understand our needs as unique nodes in the artistic landscape of Berlin, and creative mutual goals for the sustainability and vitality of the community as a whole.It always feels quite special when an institution catches the zeitgeist of a moment. Project spaces have a lot more freedom in this sense, and they can truly, sincerely, reflect a moment or a movement as it is happening. They are essential to a critically active arts scene. Perhaps the orientation of project spaces has been forced to shift towards something more self-sustainable – but that might not be a bad thing.The Project Space Prize has not only saved many spaces and kept them alive for a longer period but basically generated a unique experimental and diverse art scene in Berlin. The Prize has also very much encouraged the founding of new spaces, fueled by the hope of receiving funding at some point. More than anything, it is an example of how much a certain public funding strategy can completely shape a local art scene.
