NEW FEARS ist eine Galerie für Performance und Transdisziplinarität in Berlin-Wedding, die in Berlin ansässige und internationale Künstler:innen vertritt.
Für jede Episode lädt NEW FEARS zwei Künstler:innen zu einer Residency in Berlin
ein, die in einer öffentlichen Veranstaltung endet. Der Prozess wird von Autor:innen begleitet, die ein Manifest publizieren, das auf der bevorstehenden Veranstaltung vorgestellt wird. Bisher existieren #9 Episoden.

It’s hard to look back on the last ten years and not get distracted by Co-Vid and the massive interruption that has caused in all aspects of life. But generally, Berlin is getting more expensive, no news there: There are less store fronts perhaps to rent for a project space than there used to be. Facebook is no longer used as an announcement tool. Do young people still flock to Berlin?I wish that politicians would realize how important funding structures are and how much these can shape an art scene – shape a city.Every hour one puts into the project will be missed in your own practice. Project spaces are significant to counter the institutions and their market-oriented curated productions. They still have the capacity to foster artistic practices and communities, but also to be resistant to general tendencies and trends. Perhaps project spaces are now what once were the underground and the avant-garde.
