Statements, Surveying the Current Mood<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In June 2021 we called out to past and present award winners, the \u00adproject space and initiative operators, with a list of questions to get an impression of the current situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We asked a series of general questions in order to query the changes in the project space scene in the last decade, but also to give room for \u00adpredictions about future developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In doing so, we want to draw attention to the increasingly difficult situation of project spaces and initiatives in Berlin. The answers describe which concerns and problems are most urgent in the project space scene now, and\u00a0what is expected from state institutions and \u00adsociety in general. Basic information about the founding, possible closures, and current addresses were asked for, as well as what kind of overall changes have happened in the last ten years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Further questions were about funding, volunteer work, and how the view of both might have changed, the difficulties to find space, and politics in general, on cooperation with artists and creative pro\u00adfessionals, as well as about\u00a0the work of the\u00a0Berlin Network of Independent Project Spaces and Initiatives\u00a0itself, and lastly the concept of art and what art can and do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
